Frequently Asked Questions

Everything couples and guests ask us most, answered in our own words. If your question isn't here, write to us — we always reply.

The celebration

How many guests can Quinta do Boiro hold?

We can host up to 200 guests with the Vineyard Pavilion; the courtyard seats up to 150 for dinner under the stars; and our Reception Hall seats up to 120. Every space, with its dimensions and maximum numbers, is set out in our Spaces & Capacities table.

Is the estate ours exclusively?

Yes, we offer our guests exclusive use — one event at a time.

Can we marry inside the chapel?

Ceremonies are not held inside the chapel itself — it is a treasured space for photographs and quiet moments. Civil and symbolic ceremonies take place in the vineyard pavilion, the courtyards, the gardens or the salon of the manor house, with the chapel as a stunning backdrop. There are also several churches nearby, and we are happy to point couples and their guests towards them.

Can we hold the ceremony outdoors?

Yes — we regularly hold ceremonies in the gardens and courtyards, and they can also take place in the woods or in virtually any corner of the farm. Come and visit us: we love showing the multiplicity of spaces we can arrange.

What happens if it rains?

Rest easy — every outdoor plan comes with a beautiful indoor alternative. The Reception Hall and the salon stand ready, so whatever the sky decides, your day unfolds seamlessly and at no extra cost.

Is the Vineyard Pavilion available all year?

The Vineyard Pavilion is available year-round.

Until what time can the music play?

There is no fixed limit — timings are agreed for each event, so tell us what you have in mind.

Are fireworks and sparklers allowed?

Both are possible, subject to the season and fire-safety rules. Ask us about your dates.

Is confetti allowed?

Yes, confetti is allowed.

Do you host birthdays and christenings?

Yes — birthdays, christenings, anniversaries and any celebration worth gathering for are all welcome here.

Can we do a photo shoot or fly a drone?

Yes, by arrangement — photo and video shoots, drones included, are welcome when agreed in advance.

Costs, booking and visits

How much does a wedding at Quinta do Boiro cost?

Every celebration at Quinta do Boiro is crafted individually — no two weddings here are alike, so rather than fixed packages we prepare a proposal tailored to your vision, the season and your number of guests. The best first step is to get in touch: quinta.boiro.comercial@gmail.com, +351 938 113 524, or the contact form on this page — we would love to hear your plans.

What is included in the venue fee?

Rather than a one-size-fits-all list, everything the estate provides for your day — spaces, furnishings, staffing and every practical detail — is set out clearly in your tailored proposal, so there are never surprises. Tell us about your plans through the contact form and we will prepare it for you.

How far in advance should we book?

There is no fixed rule — get in touch and we will check your date.

What is the deposit and payment schedule?

The deposit and payment schedule are set out in your tailored proposal.

What is the cancellation policy?

The cancellation policy is detailed in the contract — we are happy to walk you through it, just ask.

Can we come and visit the estate?

Yes, with pleasure — arrange a visit via the contact form, email or phone.

Do you have a coordinator, or can we bring a planner?

Yes — you can hire our own coordinator or bring your wedding planner; both work seamlessly here.

Food, drink and suppliers

Do you provide catering, or can we bring our own?

Both options are possible depending on the number of guests — we can arrange the catering or welcome the caterer of your choice. Tell us about your plans and we will advise on the best fit.

Can we choose our own suppliers?

Yes — you are free to choose your own vendors (florist, photographer, DJ and more), and we are happy to recommend trusted ones too.

Is there AV equipment — projector, screens, sound?

AV is arranged through trusted rental partners for each event — projector, screens, sound, whatever your programme needs.

Staying at the estate

Can we and our guests stay the night?

Yes — the manor house and our three independent apartments sleep up to 10 guests, with the master suite reserved for the couple. Other guests can stay in accommodation close by, and we are happy to suggest some options if that would help.

Where does the couple sleep?

The master suite.

Is there somewhere to get ready?

Yes — the suite and the salon are available as getting-ready spaces.

What accommodation is there?

We offer the manor house plus three independent apartments — two one-bedroom T1s and a two-bedroom T2 ideal for families — sleeping up to 10 in total, with interiors by Catherine Cabral.

How much is it per night?

Rates vary by season and apartment — you can see availability and prices for your dates on our booking page, or simply ask us.

Is there a minimum stay?

No minimum stay — one-night stays are welcome.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in from 15:00 and check-out by 12:00 — flexible whenever we can.

Is breakfast included?

Yes, breakfast is included.

Do the apartments have kitchens?

Only our T2 apartment has a kitchen, though without appliances — the T1s do not. Breakfast is included, and group dinners can be arranged.

How do we book a stay?

Book directly with us for the best rate — check dates and reserve on our booking page.

Are you registered tourist accommodation?

Yes — we are registered tourist accommodation, Alojamento Local Reg. No. 177606/AL.

Facilities and comfort

Is there parking for our guests?

Yes — tell us your number of guests and we will explain the parking plan for your event.

Is the estate wheelchair accessible?

The main spaces are mostly accessible; some historic corners have steps. Contact us to discuss specific needs and we will make it work.

Is there a swimming pool?

The indoor pool is open to guests year-round (unheated), with a relaxation area alongside — and spa services can be requested in advance.

Do you offer spa treatments or massages?

Yes — spa services and massages can be requested in advance.

Is there a tennis court?

Yes — the tennis court is available to guests.

Can we bring our dog?

We are sorry — pets are not allowed, as we are a working farm with animals of our own.

Is the estate suitable for children?

Very much so — the T2 apartment is ideal for families, and cots and high chairs are available on request.

Is there Wi-Fi, heating and air conditioning?

There is Wi-Fi and heating throughout, and air conditioning in the manor house — the thick walls keep the rooms naturally cool in summer.

Is there electric car charging?

Not on-site yet — the nearest chargers are in Alenquer.

Is smoking allowed?

Outdoors only, please — no smoking inside.

Wine and the working estate

Can we do a wine tasting or vineyard tour?

Yes — vineyard walks and private tastings are arranged on request; we will share all the details when you book.

Which wines and grape varieties do you make?

Our whites include Arinto, Seara Nova and Vital (a blend and a monovarietal Arinto); our reds include an estate blend of Pinot Noir, Castelão, Syrah and Alicante Bouschet, an old-vine reserve of Alicante Bouschet and Tinta Roriz, and a flagship 80% Syrah. We work with winemaker António Braga.

Can we buy your wine?

Our wines are available to buy at the estate — ask us during your visit or get in touch.

Can we join the harvest?

Yes — in season, around September, you can join the harvest; ask ahead and we will arrange it.

Are there animals on the estate?

We are a working farm — sheep (with lambs in spring), dogs and fruit trees of several varieties — and guests are welcome to explore and meet the flock.

Corporate and group events

Do you host corporate retreats and offsites?

We host corporate retreats with up to 200 guests by day thanks to the Vineyard Pavilion; the Reception Hall takes plenaries up to 120, with breakouts across the Salon, Study and Library. Up to 10 sleep on-site, with nearby hotels for larger groups. Each programme is priced individually — tell us your group size, dates and goals via the contact form and we will send a tailored proposal within 24 hours. Every space, with its dimensions and maximum numbers, is set out in our Spaces & Capacities table.

What activities can a group do here?

Wine tastings, vineyard walks and group dinners by arrangement — plus tennis, the indoor pool, the library and farm visits (the sheep enjoy the attention).
