Weddings · Alenquer
A private wine estate forty-five minutes from Lisbon, held for one celebration at a time — for up to 200 guests, across as many days as your wedding needs.
The short version
The estate is yours exclusively. We never host two celebrations at once and there are no shared spaces — which matters more for a wedding that unfolds over several days than for one that runs over an afternoon. There is no catering exclusivity either: you are welcome to bring your own caterer and your own suppliers.
Hindu, Sikh, Muslim and Jewish celebrations are all welcome here, and the ceremony setting carries no faith of its own unless you bring one.
Time
A single-day wedding asks guests to fly a long way for an afternoon. Most of the weddings we are proudest of run from Friday to Sunday, and for a wedding with a mehndi, a sangeet or a welcome dinner of its own, several days is not an indulgence but the shape of the thing.
Because the estate is held for you alone, each day can take a different corner of it — the Secret Garden for one evening, the courtyards for another, the Vineyard Pavilion for the day itself — so that nothing feels repeated and no one spends the weekend in the same room.

The estate has a baroque chapel, and it is entirely optional. Ceremonies are not held inside it in any case — it holds about thirty people, for photographs and quiet moments. Every ceremony here happens in a garden, a courtyard or the hall, which means the setting carries no faith of its own unless you bring one.
The ceremony
Ceremonies here happen in a garden, a courtyard or the hall — never inside the chapel — so the setting is yours to shape. Tell us what your ceremony involves, how much space it needs and in what arrangement, and we will tell you which part of the estate suits it.
A mandap or similar structure can be built in any of the gardens or courtyards — your decorator brings it, and we will tell you where it sits best and how the ground works. We do not permit open flame anywhere on the estate, so a ceremony that needs a sacred fire would need a symbolic or electric one, or the religious rite held elsewhere.
We can set a room aside for prayer through the day; say when it is needed and for how many. And a celebration with no alcohol at all is perfectly fine.
The table
We work with four menus through a preferred caterer, but there is no exclusivity. You are welcome to bring your own caterer and your own suppliers, and we welcome halal and kosher caterers if you would like to bring one. For a wedding that needs a specialist kitchen, that is the normal arrangement here rather than a favour.
Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options run through all four of our own menus as standard. You are also welcome to bring your own drinks — and a celebration with no alcohol at all is perfectly fine. The one condition is that if wine is served, it is ours, grown and made here with our winemaker António Braga and poured nowhere else.
Worth knowing
Music. There is no noise curfew here. The estate is private and the nearest neighbours are not close, so the evening ends when you decide it ends.
Where everyone sleeps. There are five bedrooms on the estate, which take the couple and those closest to them. Everyone else stays nearby, and we know the hotels within a short drive well enough to point you at the right ones.
The more specific you are — how many days, how many guests, what each ceremony involves and how much space it wants — the more useful our answer will be.
